Whenever you see a robot, just stomp on their heads and get to a safe altitude away from the explosion. That being said, the Jungle can be really hard to traverse, and the prospect of getting hit by a boomerang or stumbling upon a Witch Doctor is worse. We know that the prospect of Lava can be difficult, as the smallest touch can either kill you or, worse, burn the Golden Key in front of your eyes. You only need two Bombs to open one of the paths on the side. If you have bombs to spare, don't even bother to confront Quillback. Beware of enemies such as the Horned Lizard and the Cave Mole, don't forget to grab the Golden Key in 1-2, and head to 1-4. Going through 1-1 to 1-4 is really straightforward, and chances are that if you're about to unlock the third shortcut of Spelunky 2, you have already mastered it. So, ignore all possible enemies, grab any Pets that you find in the way to gain extra HP (but only if they're close enough to the exit) and, no matter what, just keep on moving. The focus is on the Key, and for your character to survive enough to get to the end of the Tide Pool. This is the most inefficient and difficult strategy, as the player will need a Hired Hand or other player's help to carry both the Ushabti and the Clone Gun through levels. For this, we will be ignoring all secret areas and alternative paths. Cloning the Ushabti clone in Tiamat's Throne and carrying it to the Sunken City will then give the player a Qilin there. By carrying the original to 6-3 of Neo Babylon and cloning it before it hatches, the player will create a clone that will hatch on Tiamat's Throne. The Clone Gun may be used on the correct Ushabti containing the Qilin. This is the simplest method of bringing the Qilin to the Sunken City, although requires players to be in a co-op game. If a player is riding the Qilin while another exits Tiamat's Throne into the Sunken City, the other player will still be on top of the Qilin as they enter the area. ![]() ![]() It is possible to circumvent this by placing the Hired Hand and the Qilin at the very top portion of Tiamat's Throne opposite of the side containing Tun and the backlayer entrance, destroying the two vertical Forcefields with Bombs, and heading for the Sunken City once the Hired Hand has picked up the Qilin.īy destroying the two vertical Forcefields, the Hired Hand will no longer attempt the jump over towards the section containing Tun, letting the player leave for the Sunken City while preventing the Hired Hand from trying to follow them. As the Hired Hand will want to follow the player into the Olmec-shaped ship leading to it, they will drop the Qilin to enter the backalyer containing it. There are three known methods:Ī Hired Hand can carry the Qilin for the player as they enter the Sunken City. It is possible to take the Qilin past Neo Babylon and Tiamat's Throne into the Sunken City and even the Cosmic Ocean. See also: Guides:Skips Beyond Neo Babylon There are still multiple other methods to get past the lasers, all of which are significantly harder. ![]() Shown here is the safest and most efficient method to use the Qilin to ascend past the lasers. Using the Qilin to ascend past Tiamat's Throne and reach the entrance to the Sunken City. However, the volatile nature of Neo Babylon makes this more complicated than it initially seems. The player will have to successfully escort the Qilin through 6-3 of Neo Babylon in order to do this. ![]() After passing the chamber of electric traps, the player can pass by Tun and use the Olmec shaped ship to travel to the Sunken City, leaving the Qilin behind. The Qilin's main usage is to easily and safely fly past the many Spark Traps and Forcefields above Tiamat's Throne. Qilin can fly infinitely and can rapidly shoot fireballs.
